    The TanDao Tiger is a system I wish I could have learned years ago when realistic street defense was my main concern–not only for the extremely sensible use of the palm as the main striking weapon (as knuckles tend to break and swell when meeting foreheads), but for the great mobility and forward attack philosophy manifested by employing the JKD stance. The eye rakes and throat strikes/gouges of the tiger claw hand form hit the body’s most sensitive areas and are the quickest path to disabling an attacker (been poked really hard in the eye twice, once during football and once during sparring–the most disabling experiences of my life–completely helpless).

    Even for a guy like me with severe mobility limitations due to joint damage. the quick and rapid tiger strikes are something I can practice to take out an attacker fast without getting into a prolonged confrontation in which stability could be an issue.
