    Master Tan, It’s funny how paradigms shift; it used to be that the “one-blow” kill was emphasized in the hard styles. Over time one realizes that it may not work depending on one’s opponent in real encounters (unless one is Mas Oyama and can chop the horns off of a water buffalo).

    The hsing-i attitude of “my opponent may hit me many times; I only have to hit him once” certainly has merit if one can master the body mechanics and the forward propulsion of body mass. I couldn’t because of physical limitations.

    The triple-strike approach you demonstrate makes much better sense for most of us. Reminds one of the kenpo “machine-gun” approach of landing multiple blows rapidly to different vital areas, damaging and discombobulating the opponent. Except employing internal strikes that are more devastating.
